Diet and Lifestyle Matter More Now Than Ever Before

Diet and Lifestyle Matter More Now Than Ever Before by Marcus Antebi

Now more than ever we must learn to care for ourselves the way that nature intended. Much of what occurs in the realm of our heath is within our control.

I have two things to offer you. One is content on the subject of health and wellness: I have many articles on this website that will give you a great deal of information about dietary and other lifestyle changes that will benefit you tremendously. The other is a variety of health and wellness products that are natural and very effective (I use them myself, as do the members of my family).

Please browse through the website and consider the information that I’m sharing with you. The various articles cover many subjects, and they are loaded with great tips for caring for yourself and improving your own lifestyle in many ways.

You and I don't need PhDs from Ivy League schools to understand the obvious and most pressing concerns pertaining to health: processed foods, overeating, too much protein, late night eating, not enough exercise, stress, dairy foods, over-stimulating diets, et cetera.

These are things that all people can agree on. The approach on how to change bad habits and dietary mistakes is where I can help. I am developing programs based on my 34 years in 12-step recovery and my 10 years of experience in the health food and beverage industry observing customers’ experiences with diet and lifestyle.

The Strength of Your Immune System May Be In Your Hands Right Now

Unless you have an immune disease, the strength of your immune system is in your hands and not just in your genes. You have to work at it. You have to make your internal biological terrain right. It all starts with your mindset and the thoughts that you keep. Your overall outlook on life has an enormous impact on your chemistry; this cannot be downplayed.

Your diet is absolutely crucial to the success of the high performance machine that is your body. This should be obvious to the entire world, but for some reason it's not. Or perhaps it is obvious, but we struggle to balance our cravings and our desire to feel and be healthy.

We can become slaves to our habits. Habits with food can become addictions: Addictions to processed foods, animal-based foods, heavy foods, and stimulation (e.g., coffee, chocolate, protein, etc.).

The modern diet is ludicrous! Most people in the world eat like 10-year-old children left without supervision at a birthday party. The rest of the world, even when trying, simply does not understand the two simple but very important precepts taught by many great masters: The body is a temple, and food is a sacrament. I do not consider those precepts to be divine or religious pronouncements. They are physical maxims. They are about survival. And they communicate absolute truth.

Super Viruses are Looking For A Good Host

There will never be an immediate cure for all viruses that come into existence. The reason is that viruses have the ability to adapt, and a new virus emerges as an old one subsides and is under control. You must understand the nature of a virus.

Why would nature create such a thing? Nature has all kinds of destructive forces that cause things to come into balance. It’s not important to think about why. Instead, we can think about what we can do for ourselves to make us inhospitable hosts for dangerous viruses.

The first premise is that mucus inside the body is a great host for bacteria, fungus and viruses of many types—mucus the perfect breeding ground. Your body produces mucus as a lining to protect itself from irritation. When the lungs are damaged, for example, the body will secrete more mucus to protect the damaged area of the lung. If the damage remains acute, then we will remain in a constant state of production of mucus, and this is a problem.

There are foods that are inflammatory to the body. These foods trigger the production of mucus as a defense mechanism. But there are definitely things we can do to heal our bodies, and we can certainly do things that will not trigger the production of more mucus.

The main thing is to avoid mucus-producing foods. Foods that are extremely stimulating, or foods that have a powerful growth-inducing effect, can be highly inflammatory and irritating. One such food category is food made from the secretions of much larger animals—a.k.a. dairy. Dairy products are especially harmful because they come from an animal that is not the same size as a human.

When there’s no cure for a virus, we have to concentrate on how we are going to make our immune system impenetrable: That is a scientific fact. The people who are suffering the most from this current pandemic are those who have compromised immune systems to begin with. Compromised immune systems can be caused by pre-existing conditions or by diseases.

Apparently the organs of the body that are the most vulnerable are the lungs. The virus attacks the lungs, which causes a massive inflammatory affect. The bacteria arising from the virus are very detrimental—they have a field day inside the lungs. Pneumonia is a complication, and there are additional complications that arise from pneumonia. So the medical focus needs to be on reducing the complications.

Right now, the world is in effect in a “timeout.” It is a time to address individual dietary and lifestyle choices. Some will ignore the necessity of doing so. Many will suffer because that’s the case, and many will not suffer.

It’s not clear why some people will ignore the obvious, why they will not see and respond to the truth. The truth should be clear—we need to address our behavior through and through in order to make progress during this difficult time. It is a time that we as a species need to rise to the occasion and show what we are made of emotionally and spiritually.

We will need to overcome our addictions. We will need to clean up our bodies. We will need to address the emotional, psychological, and physical problems that have been nagging at us for our entire lives.

It will be hard to do so. But the actual process of doing so is simple. If we think long and hard about our various problems, we can usually identify them and to some extent identify the solutions to those problems. But when help in putting the solutions into effect is needed, how does an individual muster up that needed help?

The answer to that question is beyond the scope of this writing. This writing is intended to discuss things that you can do to your physical self to build up your immune system. There are a number of supplements, both vitamins and minerals, that will scientifically support your immune system.

These vitamins and minerals are not magic pills. In addition to using supplements, you have to clean up your diet. But when you clean up your diet it doesn’t mean that you just find sources of food that now contain all of the vitamins and minerals that you need to build your immune system. It means that you first and foremost get rid of the mistakes that were breaking you down.

If you want a tremendous boost in your immune system, give up dairy and all flesh foods for 12 months. Do not drink a sip of wine or alcohol. Do not use tobacco through the lungs. Make sure you exercise frequently with lots of exertion to build up the strength of the heart and to make sure that your blood circulates and pumps out all the toxins.

Almost all of the supplements that are available could have a positive effect, but you can’t afford to buy all of them. I can recommend some. Vitamin C buffered with calcium is one. The calcium will prevent you from getting diarrhea from taking large doses of vitamin C. Vitamin D3 and vitamin B12 are also essential, especially for people who are not in sunlight all the time. B12 can cause difficulty for people who have highly acidic diets, or who may have been on lengthy antibiotic treatments. Vitamin A is another golden vitamin. And in terms of minerals, calcium, iron, magnesium, and zinc are the big four.

There are lots of all natural remedies for healing, such as the use of colloidal silver. Such things require a great deal of research and thought on the part of the user. Regarding unusual remedies, research and understanding about the manufacturing processes used by the resellers is critical.

The most important things that I can offer you are not the dietary supplement products that I sell. Rather it is the information and knowledge that I have acquired from much study, personal experience, and interactions with thousands of people involved in lifestyle change.

Science is constantly evolving. That being the case, we should be hesitant to talk about various things in absolute terms. I’m not afraid to say that it’s possible that everything that I have written about could be overturned from a scientific perspective. But I do think that it’s highly unlikely that I will change my mind about the importance of a plant-based diet.

I make the statements of the previous paragraph as a disclaimer of sorts. I have to say that I’m distrustful of people characterized by rigid thinking, and I don’t want to come off as a zealot when I make various pronouncements. I think and study a great deal about science, and I respect scientific opinion. But at the same time I think it’s important for people to be open-minded about information, the need for change, and the value of the opinions of others as we go through life together.
